I really enjoy cooking and good food. Over the last few months, I realized I am cooking the same meals over and over again. I decided I need some inspiration and bought two new cookbooks : Jamie Oliver's 30 Minute Meals and Yotam Ottolenghi's Ottolenghi:The Cookbook.
I suppose there is no need to tell anything about Jamie Oliver. I like him since his early days and love his down to earth style. I also appreciate his efforts about school lunch campaigns and Ministry of Food. It is obvious that he really loves what he does and he tries to inspire people about cooking and eating tasty food and tasty food does not have to be expensive or time consuming.
Yotam Ottolenghi has a few restaurants in London. I have never been to them yet but I know him from his Guardian column. Being from Turkey I find his taste very similar to mine (He is from Israel)
So yesterday I decided to try a recipe from this book:Red Camargue rice and quinoa salad.
I prepared this for lunch and it turned out very lovely.
I discovered red Camargue rice a few years ago.It is grown in the Camargue region of France and tastes similar to brown rice. If you are not familiar with it,quinoa is a versatile grain native to South America. It is an excellent source of protein.
I realise Heidi from 101 Cookbooks shared the recipe on her website,so click here if you would like to see it. While you are there, also check out another quinoa salad recipe which is also delicious and makes a great packed lunch.
