Smiling like Sunshine: Waldorf dolls

Waldorf dolls

We had bought D. a Waldorf doll when she was about 1.5 years old.
Waldorf dolls are used in Waldorf education. Their face does not have an expression allowing the child to use his/her creativity and imagination. They are made of cotton and wool. Therefore soft to the touch and warm to hold.
4 years old now and  this doll is still one of the favorite toys. At one point I was wondering if she would rather want a "normal" doll. We bought her one, which she calls the "hard doll". She also likes to play with it at times, but not as much as the Waldorf one,Maya.

Here she is sleeping with Maya, the red cat and  a lemon she found in the garden!

  1. All weekend long Milo was carrying around an imaginary baby. A Waldorf doll might be just what he needs :)

  2. D is absolutely gorgeous - love the photographs in the hammock and that lemon brought a smile to my face!

  3. @Abby, yes Milo might love a waldorf doll, too. There are some lovely boy dolls that caught my eye :)
@Bristol Parenting Cafe, thank you.The girl loves lemons :)
