Kids crafts:No-mess tie-dye

My daughter loves doing this so much that we decided to do this at her birthday party, too. It was a great hit with all the children, including the mothers!
The idea comes from Pink and Green Mama.
Here is what you need:
Felt tip pens
Rubbing alcohol
a small jar
an elastic
a plain white hankie or t-shirt

Stretch your fabric (in this case, we used  a t-shirt) around the mouth of the jar secure with a rubber band.
Draw on your fabric whatever pattern you would  like to (mix your colours).
Then apply a few drops of rubbing alcohol to the centre of the design.
You will have lovely patterns with a tie-dye effect.

  1. Oooh what very fun project!! It must be great to watch the colour "run" and make patterns. Doubles up as a nice experiment!

  2. The shirt is so cute! I love the colors running effect!

  3. What a lovely idea, thanks! As you say, much less messy than the usual method. Will definitely try it soon.

Thank you so much for taking your time and leaving a comment!
