Smiling like Sunshine: Snap painting

Snap painting

This has been on my mind since I read it on Irresistible Ideas a few months ago.
I thought Defne would love it, so we prepared our table in the garden this morning. Just before starting with my daughter, I gave my son a brush and a cup of water, so that he enjoys his own "painting". I showed him how to paint the walls and started snap painting with Defne.

We stretched two elastic bands over a  base. We painted  the elastics then snapped them to send the paint down onto the paper.

Oh well, she wasn't much interested and didn't want to carry on after this first attempt. We haven't done "wall painting" for ages and apparently it looked more fun  :) The joys of simple pleasures!
Just in case you are not familiar with it, water painting is a huge hit with preschoolers and toddlers. Just give them a brush and a bucket of water and let them "paint" the walls. Great for the summer!

And as for the snap painting, we will give it another go later. I personally loved it and the results look very arty, too!

Happily shared with  Kids Get Crafty, It's Playtime ,We PlayPreschool Corner ,  Play Academy  link ups. What have you been playing with your kids lately?

  3. The wall painting looks very fun! Our walls are all white, so I dont know if it will be as fun for us. We might have to try anyways!

  4. I'd seen snap painting on Irresitible Ideas as well and have been wanting to give it a try. Sometimes kids just aren't as interested as we think they will be - I love that you just go with the flow :)

  5. Well *I* like the idea of dnap painting! I guess you could make it musical too - like a guitar painting?
