The joys of baking your own bread

bread by Isils

Waay back when we didn't have any children, I used to bake our bread and I loved it. There is nothing like kneading the dough, experimenting with different flavors and flours and the smell of the bread baking in the oven.
Unfortunately I lost my habit but I think now is a good time to start again. Winter is the perfect season for baking, isn't it?
The recipe was recommended to me by a dear friend and we absolutely love it!

Do you enjoy baking? What is your favorite recipe? I would love it if you share it in the comments.

  1. Just followed your link from Twitter. I'm passionate about homebaked bread and so is the rest of my family, in fact about 50% of the time I call my parents house, my mother can't come to the phone because she's "got her hands covered in dough" - Ha! I really really rate Richard Bertinet's french style of baking and his books on the subject. You don't kneed the dough, so much as lift it and slam it on the counter (makes sense when he explains it I promise!)

  2. I'm such a bread novice, the only recipe I use is this:

And TY for the sweet well wishes on Ailia's arrival! :)
