Montessori activities for toddlers (5)

I thought I'd share what we have been up to lately:
Stacking things is Derin's favorite activity these days. Having painted a picture, Derin used his crayons to stack them on top of each other.

I know it is still a bit early but I showed him how to lace cotton reels. He had a go and then decided to make a tower ;)

Cutting his wooden fruits using the knife

He found playdough disgusting but these days he loves it and wants to play with it everyday.

Transferring marbles from one bowl to another (please note that I observed him very carefully so that he doesn't put them in his mouth)

Derin will start to a  Montessori nursery in January and I am very excited to see how it goes. I can't believe my baby is growing up.

Shared with Montessori Monday over at One Hook Wonder.

  1. Isn't it funny how they go through sensory phases? Part of our science experiments this week was making slime. They wouldn't tolerate it before, but they're all about it and the play dough, now. I'm looking forward to making glitter slime and glitter play dough for the holidays again this year, too!

  2. Lovely photos. My daughter (20 months) loves play dough since I started making our own. I must break out the marbles (although I did catch her almost eating one the other day at a group).
Could I ask you where you are doing your montessori distance training please? I'm in the UK too, and really want to train, although I'm time-poor.

  3. Great activities! And I love creating a Montessori activity from recycled thread spools! Thanks for linking up with Montessori Monday. I featured your post at the Living Montessori Now Facebook page:
