Inspired by MamaSmiles, I thought it would be nice to share the educational toys that we love.
Djeco Topanimo Stacking Blocks I bought these when Defne was one years old. Both my kids love these and play with them nearly daily.4.5 years later, despite being made out of cardboard box they are still going strong! My kids love stacking them, counting them, knocking them. The animal figures that come with the toy are lovely, too and they are also get played with a lot.
Melissa and Doug Latches Board is a new favourite. The manufacturer's recommended age for this toy is 3 but it is a brilliant toy for 2 year olds. Derin has always been interested in locks. This toy is great for hand eye coordination and fine motor skills.
ELC Click Clack Wooden Track is much loved by both kids. It is great fun watching the cars zoom down. This toy indirectly prepares children to reading as they watch the cars move from left to right and then from right to left.
Galt Toys Soundtracks is a great toy that teach children to concentrate and listen. At 2.5 years, Derin is too young to play with this as intended. But he loves listening to the tracks and finding out what the sounds are.
I like that these are all wooden toys (except the soundtracks of course) and don't cost too much. They are also very close to the Montessori education that I love.
What are your children's favourite toys?

That's a handy post. Would love to see the pics of all the items.. :)
