This week,we made a water xylophone with Defne.
We filled a few glasses with water (in progressive amounts) To make it more interesting, we added a few drops of food colouring into each glass. D. enjoyed seeing the swirling colours and said "It is very interesting!"
She then stirred each glass of water so that the water is nicely coloured.
And our water xylophone was ready!

She had great fun making music!
We talked about how different sounds we get depending on where she hits the glass. Also, different levels of water create different pitches. The fuller the glass, the higher is the pitch you get.
We enjoyed exploring sound with this xylophone and I can see that this will be repeated very soon! ;)

What a great experiment - and I agree, the colours make it even better. Lovely to see you at the Play Academy again.
